    As part of the Mechanical Design team, you will be required to support the design release activities and PDM / PLM development and maintenance.

    Key responsibilities;

    • Create CAD models, assemblies, drawings and specifications according to best practice and corporate standards
    • Ensure the corporate standard for CAD modelling and drafting is followed by adherence to, and the provision of guidance to others

  • Production Test Engineer


    Contract Position 6 - 12 Months

    We are looking for a skilled Test Engineer to join our Manufacturing team for a fixed period to work on the development, verification and improvement of production validation test equipment and processes. 

    Key deliverables

    • To deliver new test equipment design, development and production relating to the Bladon Micro Turbine Generator and key subsystems
    • Project management of new equipment implementation
    • Involvement with the capital equipment supplier selection process, alongside the provision of being a contact point for the technical interface
    • Fault finding and diagnosis of problems
    • Active participation in design improvement proposals
    • Manage data, configuration details and results
    • Report out through detailed written technical test reports

    Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required

    • Degree in Electronic, Electrical or Control related field
    • Extensive experience in a role with test experience or exposure. A good ‘all-round’ background is sought as this is primarily a full system level role
    • Demonstrable general software knowledge
    • A desire for ‘hands on’ work, and to collaborate within a highly qualified and driven team
    • Ideally experience in calibration, installation and utilisation instrumentation and DAQ systems
    • Strong communication skills – verbally and written in English

    As part of the Mechanical Design team, you will be required to perform mechanical design activities with Design Engineering function to support work packages across the business to deliver the Bladon MTG.

    Key responsibilities;

    Develop concept and production design of components and assemblies from system level requirements

    • Perform tolerance studies as required on bespoke designs
    • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Supply Chain personnel to optimise design for production

    You must have experience of designing mechanical parts for high-volume manufacture, alongside a HND or higher relevant qualification.   • Thermal Specialist

    We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Thermal Specialist to join our dedicated team in Coventry. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an innovative engineering Company and use your skills and knowledge within a challenging and engaging environment. 

    The successful applicant will be involved in development and validation of our Micro Gas Turbine system using CFD and 1D heat transfer networks, as well as working with our external test partners. There will also be opportunities to get involved in our in-house testing.

    Key responsibilities;

    • Provide significant in-depth knowledge and experience in Thermals - both internal and external flows
    • Perform analysis and product evaluation for future technology
    • Produce thermal designs, based on research, for prototypes using computer-aided design (CFD) and 1D Flow analysis  
    • Modify designs based on the analysis to re-test and analyse until design meets thermal specification
    • Research concept ideas using mathematical modelling to work out whether new developments and innovations would work and be cost effective
    • Responsible for specifying requirements and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of features, the role provides for a high level of independent judgement.
    • Show solid judgement and build consensus, particularly in the face of competing design requirements
    • Attend design reviews to present design ideas and to discuss and critique alternative design solutions
    • Attend various meetings and action/communicate instructions
    • Produce and undertake presentations
    • Independently determine approach and associated assigned tasks

    Skills & Experience;

    • Demonstrable thermal experience
    • Relevant Engineering or equivalent degree is preferred
    • Experience of analysing the data from both CFD and experiments, as well as having a basic knowledge of cooling power electronics
    • Membership of an industry related Professional Body would be advantageous
    • Ability to use CFD, 1D Thermal flow networks, and CAD - ideally ANSYS FLUENT, FLOWNEX, SOLIDWORKS
    • Experience of FMEA (Failure Mode Effects Analysis), Kaizen/A3 (continuous improvement and problem solving) process improvement is advantageous
    • Ability to consistently demonstrate extremely high levels of technical knowledge, ingenuity and creativity
    • Must have the ability to work unsupervised, alongside being an excellent team player working in small and larger team, with superb written and verbal presentation skills.

    As part of the Finance team you will provide detailed advanced cost accountancy support for the business as we move to full scale manufacture. The position is on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months to cover the ramp up and changing business needs.

    • Develop Standard Costing System within SAP Business One
    • Develop and report Variance Analysis
    • Develop and report inventory valuation, provisioning and reporting

    The right candidate must be an experienced Cost Accountant, with in depth knowledge of Standard Costing and ERP systems. Fully qualified, ideally CIMA, although we would consider ACCA or ACA qualified.

    The Operations Manager will take lead responsibility for delivering the Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Inventory targets for the production facility.

    The right candidate will be expected to take a key role within the Company’s improvement processes to ensure best practice and standardisation throughout at a pivotal time for the Company. Key to the success of the applicant will be the ability to draw on extensive experience within a Lean Manufacturing organisation.

    Key responsibilities;

    • Management of the Production, Materials Handling and Maintenance teams
    • Ownership of the production operating system
    • Team staffing and development. Direct, hands on management and development of the production operatives
    • Growing the team to meet the production ramp up
    • Integral part of the SIOP process. Develop the production capacity model and ensure capacity meets customer demand
    • Be an integral part of the cross functional team to ensure successful new product introductions that meet launch targets
    • Identify and drive continuous improvement activities for the function

    Qualifications & Experience;

    • Demonstrable experience in an operations management role.
    • Exceptional leadership and coaching skills
    • Capable of success in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
    • Significant experience within a Lean Manufacturing environment - ideally Automotive or Aerospace, including familiarity with Just In Time manufacture
    • Experience in delivering capital projects
    • 6 Sigma / Lean certification
    • High level of familiarity with SAP would be advantageous

    We are recruiting for an R&D Build Technician to join the R&D team. The right individual will have a strong background in prototype mechanical fitting along with excellent assembly skills.

    Day to day your responsibilities include:

    • Building and assembling first off gen sets including all sub-assemblies
    • Assisting in creation of work instructions and reading electrical diagrams
    • Building/assembling/modifying various test rigs/fixtures
    • Assisting the test function with build tasks
    • Building/modifying various production assembly fixtures, involving working from hand drawn sketches on occasion
    • Carrying out route cause analysis and rapid problem-solving activities
    • Recording and escalating design and quality issues found within work activities that are carried out

    It is imperative that you have demonstratable experience from a prototype automotive or motorsport background, with the ability to read drawings. You will have basic machining abilities, prior experience of mill and lathe as well as fabrication and welding skills are a must.
