Purpose of Role
The ultimate owner for all system level functionality and performance. responsible to deliver a stable functioning system into design verification. A recognised expert in the product, owning and responsible to lead investigation and resolution on all reported system level issues. Leading the construction of the product technical file, and securing approval at engineering sign off gateway. Providing system level expertise to assist sales, commercial, service, test, and certification teams in the delivery of their own responsibilities.

If you are an experienced Senior Test Engineer who is always ready to react to issues as they arise; who is excited to be able to support development of highly innovative products, we have the perfect opportunity for you. We are a dynamic company with a highly innovative and market leading product seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer to join our growing Product Development Test Department.
At Bladon, we recognise our Test team as vital to our success. Our team is fully committed to performing component, subsystem and whole system level testing for Bladon’s unique gas turbine driven electrical generator. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will be responsible for enabling a wide variety of R&D and V&V test activities to support new product introduction and subsystem testing. We are looking for a candidate who can utilise the wide range of skillsets of the Test Engineers within the department, in a collaborative approach, to assist Bladon in achieving our goals. In support of this, you may be expected to represent the Test Department in meetings with our senior management and executive leadership teams.
The competitive and fast-paced nature of our technology development requires the constant improvement of our capabilities. Candidates will be expected to have significant demonstrable experience in design, build and commissioning of new test rigs and facilities in-house, sourcing external capability and will be experienced in sourcing and integrating new cutting-edge measurement technology.
The ideal candidate will have experience in calibration, installation, and utilisation of instrumentation and DAQ systems. We are looking for an individual who has a hands-on approach, a flexible can-do attitude, and is constantly looking for ways to optimize and improve test capability and methods.

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for the design, development, commissioning and maintenance of new test rigs, facilities and capability including responsibility for their delivery.
• Support a team of skilled Test Engineers, assisting in their career and skills development.
• To perform a variety of testing on microturbine gensets. This includes, but is not limited to:
o Performance Testing
o Endurance and Reliability Testing
o Customer validation testing, such as testing the interaction of our product with customer equipment
o Research and Development into new product introductions, and solutions to problems, cost down, product improvement etc
o Product investigations
• Fault finding and diagnosis of problems.
• Manage data, configuration details and results in a highly organised manner.
• Reporting by writing detailed technical test reports.
What we’re looking for:
• A passionate and dedicated Senior Engineer with strong technical grounding.
• Must have right to work in the UK
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a test engineering role.
• Demonstrable experience supporting and guiding other engineers to meet their objectives.
• Minimum 2:1 Hons degree (or equivalent) in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical or Control related field
• Candidates shall have demonstrable history of capability improvement in a test or development environment.
• It is essential that applicants have significant hands-on experience in product level testing as this role incorporates a substantial hands-on element. Persons with only experience of software or Hardware in the Loop laboratory testing will likely not be suitable for this role.
• Can demonstrate some experience in working with software based products & systems.
• A desire for ‘hands on’ work, and to collaborate within a highly qualified and driven team.
• Comfortable with some periods of kneeling and working outdoors.
• A genuine passion for engineering. This will be explored during the interview.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Bladon has an exciting opportunity for a Performance Engineer to join our Powerplant Team. As a This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate looking for their first career role.
As the Performance Engineer you will complete data analysis and performance analysis for the Engineering function to aid the success of the business. Working with cross functional departments related to performance attributes ensuring efficiency and power requirements are adhered to.
You will be based in our new purpose-built manufacturing and development facility, conveniently located in the West Midlands with great transport links, where we develop and manufacture green energy solutions for our international customer base.

Key Responsibilities
• Work cross functionally with other teams and support the development of system performance models and control system logic
• Support the assessment and optimisation of product performance on both high system and subsystem level
• Support the definition of verification and validation test plans as well as the pass / fail criteria
• Support testing activities, ensuring the test data is adequate for the purpose of the test
• Process and analyse test data and report in a clear and concise manner
What we’re looking for:
• Degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
• Knowledge of Gas Turbine cycles, architectures and operation.
• Experience in Scripting in MATLAB/Simulink and or Python
• Experience in data processing and analysis
