    We are looking to hire a Performance Engineer based at our site at Coventry. You will be supporting Bladon Micro Turbine development and the production of micro gas turbine generator units. We are seeking an engineer who can interpret and create models from test rig and operational unit data in order to report on current performance and propose opportunities for improvement.

    We are looking for an individual who has experience with hybrid power generation systems and the capability to interpret operational data into an accurate analytical model, to complement and support the existing capabilities in the performance team, This is not just a desk based role, in order to gather the data for analysis, it is imperative that you work closely with the development and test and performance teams to measure and run tests in the required manner.

    As a Performance Engineer you will be responsible for:

    • Working with the Lead Performance Engineer in order to refine and extend the steady state and transient unit performance models
    • Post processing of data from unit test and rig tests
    • Evaluating and quantifying areas of performance improvement opportunities
    • Reviewing development unit and field unit data on component failures to provide support for subsystem work package owners

    The ideal candidate will have an Honours degree in Engineering, (or any other relevant scientific discipline) and several years of relevant working experience in a similar role. Experience within programming, specifically Matlab would be preferable.

  • Fuel Systems Engineer

    We are looking to hire a Fuel Systems Engineer to be responsible for design, development and verification of liquid fuel metering and delivery systems. Whilst working to develop the product and subsystem level requirements, they will also produce and oversee the validation plan.

    The right individual will be expected to generate designs and provide analysis as well as test reports. The role will involve presenting information at all levels, alongside playing an active part with valuable engineering input at design reviews.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Develop product and subsystem level requirements
    • Design and develop liquid fuel metering and delivery systems
    • Define and oversee validation testing on fuel system products.
    • Generate design, analysis and test reports
    • Presenting and providing engineering input at design reviews

    Skills / Experience

    Essential -

    • Mechanical or electronic based HND or higher with relevant industrial experience.
    • Good first principles understanding of engineering, including pneumatic/hydraulic with proven analytical skills.
    • Experience in specifying and analysis of rig or product based development testing using appropriate toolchains
    • Experience with data acquisition software and post-processing data.
    • Familiar with development instrumentation covering temperature, pressure, flow etc.

    Desirable -

    • Previous experience in the design and development of liquid or gas fuel delivery system development.
    • Experience of Gas turbine systems.
    • Understanding of motor control theory and its application to BLDC motors.

  • Programme Lead – Cabinet & Plinth

    Contract Role – 6 month

    To manage the program for the cabinet & plinth function as part of our ground breaking MTG launch to full scale manufacture. You’ll be working cross functionally with engineering, manufacturing and supply chain to ensure key milestones are met throughout all the defined phases.

    Working directly with the Head of Programme Delivery to ensure the Cabinet & Plinth work package status is up to date, at all times and any issues or concerns are flagged / dealt with and where possible preempted.

    This is a key role within the particular work package that will feed into the overall delivery of the programme to ensure we meet our overall organisational objectives, the individual must be proactive, expert at prioritisation and able to work independently whilst maintaining their position within the team, a background within Engineering is essential for the role.


    • Direct and support the overall activities of the Cabinet & Plinth work package as necessary to meet budgets, key milestones and performance targets
    • Work closely with the Cabinet & Plinth team to plan and track progress, ensuring an up-to-date programme of delivery is maintained at all times
    • Ensure that actions are progressed and highlight areas where the delivery may be delayed along with developing contingencies with the team to maintain delivery timings
    • Pro-actively identify potential problems and / or risk factors- Ensuring that risks and issues are clearly identified, prioritised and escalated alongside provision of solutions to both real and potential risks / issues
    • Document issues, identify impact and partake in all review meetings
    • Ensure the information captured is up to date and is appropriately reported out at various levels throughout the business
    • Ensure robust adherence to engineering processes including change control processes
    • Active participation in departmental and planning meetings to ensure consistent updates on progress at all times
    • Work internally with various departments (sales, manufacturing, engineering, finance) to ensure milestones are met
    • Work closely with the Supply base to ensure timely delivery, on time, to cost and quality.
    • Mentoring of the more junior members of the team to ensure they perform to the best of their abilities.


    • Engineering Experience / Qualification is essential to effective understanding of the work package
    • A strong technical background to understand the technical specifications, requirements and capabilities associated with the program is essential
    • A proven track record of delivering complex engineering systems or sub-systems through into volume production in an automotive, aerospace or industrial environment
    • Previous Programme Delivery / Planning role would be advantageous
  • Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer – Electrical

    Bladon are recruiting for an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer (SQA) with electrical experience to take a lead role in selecting and developing our Supply Chain and internal processes at this pivotal time for the business. This will be a hands on support role, ensuring best practice at all times maintaining our robust systems both internally and externally.

    As well as working as part of the Operations team, you will work with Engineering/Electrical (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements.

    Your responsibilities and experience to date will have been around the following:

    • Leading the supplier approval process by assessing manufacturing/technology capabilities and Health, Safety and Environmental risks
    • Carrying out supplier validation audits and advanced product quality planning (APQP)
    • Reviewing supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities
    • Managing and coordinating supplier performance, problem solving, cost recovery and warranty activities
    • Performing on-site supplier visits for root cause analysis and verification of correction actions of supplier quality issues
    • Collating and evaluating supplier quality data to identify process improvement opportunities across the supply chain
    • Supporting inspection and test status requirements defined by regulations, engineering product specifications or Control Plans and PPAP approval 
    • Reporting on KPIs to drive Continuous Improvement activities 
    • Participating in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products to meet business and customer requirements
    • Promoting the use of Continuous Improvement techniques throughout the business including Lean, 6-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, SPC and PFMEA 
    • Leading quality audits and coordinating audit plans
    • Experience of supporting internal builds
    • Conducting benchmarking studies to determine best practice/designs and future trends
    • Staying current and up to date on any changes that may affect the supply and demand of utilised products and materials and report out on potential impact
    • Delivering training on quality awareness to colleagues and at suppliers as required
