  • C Embedded Software Engineer


    8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday

    We are looking to recruit a C Embedded Software Engineer to work within our onsite Software team. The right candidate must have extensive experience. Their role will be to maintain embedded software on our products primarily focusing on software implemented in C.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Maintain C source code for power conversion subsystems (Voltage Mode Inverter and Active Front End)
    • Assist in maintenance and debug of MCU low level modifications and issues
    • Contribute to issue resolution applied to low level software deployed on our products

    Skills / Experience;

    • Demonstrable experience working in a small/medium sized company delivering and maintaining production software in a structured environment
    • Expert level in embedded C with demonstrable experience developing and maintaining production software (min 5 years)
    • Full software life cycle experience (requirements through to validation)
    • Demonstrable experienced in using software life cycle tools and processes
    • Experienced user of CAN bus logging and analysis tools (CANalyzer/BUSMASTER)
    • Some exposure to the use of MathWorks Toolchain for software generation
    • Desirable to have experience in development of power conversion electronics
    • Degree qualified in a numerical discipline

  • EDS CAD Engineer

    We are looking to recruit an EDS CAD Engineer to join our inhouse Electronics team. We are looking for an experienced engineer to take Responsibility for the design of appropriate routing of wire harnesses and the integration of electrical/electronic components (including associated mechanical interfaces). The right candidate will work with the EDS team to develop the EDS requirements for routing and packaging for our MTG products.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Design and package EDS, Wire Harnesses and associated components (including bracketry) to required modelling standard.
    • Design using failure mode avoidance principles to ensure robust design.
    • Lead/support virtual build events and integration activities to ensure the harness meets cost targets while maintaining design robustness
    • Manage and resolve Integration and EDS engineering issues in a timely manner
    • Ensure accurate translation of design into 2D print

    Skills and Experience;

    • Degree or equivalent in suitable engineering discipline
    • Electrical harness engineering background (preferred)
    • Mechanical engineering experience
    • Solid Works approved certification
    • Teamcenter experience (preferred)

  • Senior Power Electronics Engineer

    We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Power Engineer to support and develop the current generation of AFE and VMI power electronics modules, and to lead the design and development of the next generation AFE & VMI products.

    Key Responsibilities;

    • Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the current generation designs of Active Front End (AFE) and Voltage Mode Inverter (VMI) power modules
    • Lead the investigation and resolution of any failures seen on the power electronics modules
    • Be the design authority for the AFE and VMI modules, support the nominated electronics manufacturing partner to successfully transition these products from low volume batch builds into full volume production
    • Actively contribute to the ongoing system level integration and testing activities, and to the design proving of the individual power modules and of the complete electrical system
    • Deliver the agreed program of design simplification, design for manufacture, design for test, and design cost-reduction activities to ensure electronics delivers on the agreed product cost roadmap
    • Support Advanced Engineering activity by contributing knowledge and experience of power electronics design & development towards the review, selection and development of future product concepts
    • Lead detailed design and industrialisation of future product concepts, to create the next generation AFE and VMI power modules

    Skills /Experience;

    • Degree in electrical & electronic engineering, with subsequent specialism in power electronics
    • Significant experience in design and development of power electronics designs, including three phase drives for high speed machines, and single phase 230V ac inverters at the 10-20kW level
    • Experienced in design of high power switching circuits using IGBTs and Mosfets. Ideally also bringing experience in design of high efficiency, high frequency switching circuits using silicon carbide component technologies
    • Trained and experienced in high voltage (+400V DC) testing of power electronics modules, including test and development of solutions for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC)
    • Able to work with minimum supervision and maximum responsibility, and to operate all equipment in a safe and effective manner
